Learning to LOVE your pregnant/post-partum body can be difficult, especially in a society that capitalizes off of shaming women’s bodies. If you feel like you focus a lot on your appearance, weight, or size, this workshop is for you.

This “Loving Your Body” Workshop welcomes you to explore your relationship with your body in a way that is not often spoken about to support you in creating a lasting positive relationship with your body and yourself.

Focusing on body appearance and food is an extremely common coping strategy of mothers, sometimes conscious and sometimes not. SO much of pregnancy and motherhood is unpredictable, causing women to feel powerless and out of control. Our bodies can become a very easy target. Controlling food and weight seems TANGIBLE, unlike parenting! But this distraction can quickly become and unhealthy and dysfunctional way of coping with the stresses of life.

What are the underlying causes that contribute to your body dissatisfaction? Where do your beliefs about yourself and your body come from? What are the links between your body image and your self esteem? And…. what does shame have to do with it?

Learning to LOVE your body can be difficult, especially in a society that capitalizes off of shaming women’s bodies.

If you find yourself often focusing on or obsessing over your appearance, this workshop is for you.

You will be supported to learn ways to create a lasting positive relationship with your body and self by: Identifying what is healthy and unhealthy in your life around your body/food/exercise, unearthing what is blocking you from honestly loving your body, and connecting to your body and emotions. We will also be touching on how to support children in creating healthy body image for themselves, as per request!

Emotions, Nutrition & Body Image: A workshop held by Body Image experts Jen Reddish (Counsellor from The Essence of You) and Jenna Lessner (Nutritional Consultant from Simply Nurtured) .

In this workshop, Jen and Jenna will be talking about the impact that emotions and nutrition have on Body Image. This will give you a complete understanding of how to move forward in creating a healthier relationship with your body, from the inside out.

* Learn how your emotions are impacting your relationship with your body and food

* Explore possible underlying issues to your body dissatisfaction

* Learn coping strategies to help you as you are recovering from body image issues

* Learn what your body needs nutritionally as you are creating a healthy relationship to your body and food

Both Jen and Jenna support women to overcome their body image issues in their businesses. Although they come from different perspectives in how they work with their clients, they have a shared belief that in order to create a healthier relationship with your body it is essential to learn how your food choices AND underlying emotional issues impact how you feel about your body.
