Mini Retreat: Releasing Anxiety & Finding Your Calm

Join Jen Reddish, Master Therapeutic Counsellor with almost 10 years of experience on this topic for a half day retreat learning and practicing ways to release your anxiety and restore a sense of calm.

Your day will include:

  • A guided mindfulness walk through the forest in the gorgeous countryside on the outskirts of Calgary where this retreat is being held

  • A welcome circle with nourishing snacks and refreshments

  • An interactive psycho-educational workshop + art therapy process with Registered Master Therapeutic Counsellor Jen Reddish where you will be supported to gain insight around your anxiety to help you find ways of releasing it. Jen will teach you ways to manage your symptoms of anxiety and give you opportunities to practice these techniques in-session, and she will also introduce you to strategies for long-term healing and release around your anxiety.

  • A yoga session & talk on yoga + anxiety facilitated by Cher Compton from Dragonfly Maternity

  • An information session on nutrition & anxiety with Q&A’s with Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant Laurel Berube

  • A reflective activity to wrap up your key learning points from the day

10:30AM -12PM (Optional Group Activity):  Come to the area early for a short refreshing hike at Elbow Falls.

12PM-4PM (Lunch & Workshop):  The workshop will start off with a welcome circle while we eat lunch (lunch is provided) and begin an introduction to building resliency, then we will move onto the formal portion of the event where you will learn how to recognize signs of burnout and vicarious trauma and learn AND practice tools for prevention! - Facilitated by Jen Reddish, Registered Master Therapeutic Counsellor.

4PM-8PM (Optional Group Activity): Continue the connection by joining your colleagues for a hike in Bragg Creek, and finish the day off with dinner out at one of the area’s gourmet restaurants! *Exact details of optional post-workshop activity will be sent out closer to the date. If you are wanting to join the optional dinner-out you will need to confirm asap so that we can make reservations accordingly. This workshop is focused on providing support for women who have experienced pregnancy loss or infertility. You will have an opportunity to share and connect to other women who have had similar experiences, learn about and relate your experience to the different stages of grief, and learn coping strategies. This workshop uses creative activities to help in the reflective process. This workshop is being facilitated by Jen Reddish, Counsellor and Psychotherapist at The Essence of You.

Motherhood Workshop: Who Am I?

SECOND WORKSHOP being offered on Saturday, April 22, as the Sunday Session is almost FULL! The Saturday Session is already starting to fill up, Contact me to register asap!

This workshop is a part of a series focusing on exploring your identity as a woman and mother. Each session has a similar focus on identity but with different discussion points & activities.

This workshop will use creative activities to help you connect to yourself on a deeper level. Participants will have an opportunity to explore: qualities within yourself that represent who you are, reconnecting with lost parts of yourself and letting go what is no longer serving you, and self-care strategies that help you be your authentic self.

This is a safe space for sharing and exploration, and an opportunity for meeting other mothers on a similar journey.
