Everyone talks about anxiety, but how do we find a way to manage the symptoms that go with it?

It’s not as simple as finding a way to GET RID of anxiety....

No matter how much you might want your anxiety to disappear, one thing is for sure: Right now, it’s pretty comfortable sticking around.

So while your anxiety is still present in your life, regardless of any diagnosis or lack-there-of, one thing is for sure: YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO MANAGE IT!

Join Jen Reddish, Master Therapeutic Counsellor with almost 10 years of experience on this topic for a half day retreat learning and practicing ways to mange your symptoms of anxiety.

Your day will include:

  • A guided mindfulness walk through the forest in the gorgeous countryside on the outskirts of Calgary where this retreat is being held

  • A welcome circle with nourishing snacks and refreshments

  • An interactive psycho-educational workshop + art therapy process with Registered Master Therapeutic Counsellor Jen Reddish where you will be supported to gain insight around your anxiety to help you cope with the symptoms that go with it. Jen will teach you ways to manage your symptoms of anxiety and give you opportunities to practice these techniques in-session, and she will also introduce you to strategies for long-term healing around your anxiety.

  • A mini yoga session & talk on yoga + anxiety facilitated by Cher Compton from Dragonfly Maternity

  • An information session on nutrition & anxiety with Q&A’s with Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant Laurel Berube

  • A light, nourishing dinner with reflective discussion to wrap up your key learning points from the day

1:30-2:15pm (optional): Grab a coffee and connect with fellow workshop participants at Snug Cove Cafe, just off the ferry. If you decide to walk on to the ferry, this will be our meeting place for helping shuttle you to the workshop location.

2:30-5:30pm (Workshop): Facilitated by Jen Reddish, Master Therapeutic Counsellor, we will learn how to recognize signs of burnout and vicarious trauma and learn tools for prevention!

5:30-7:30 (Optional Group Activity):Weather dependent, join us for a post-workshop bagged-lunch beach picnic and cleansing ocean swim, or catch a ride back to the ferry for those heading straight back to the city. This workshop is a part of a series focusing on exploring your identity as a woman and mother. Each session has a similar focus on identity but with different discussion points & activities.

This workshop will use creative activities to help you connect to yourself on a deeper level. Participants will have an opportunity to explore: qualities within yourself that represent who you are, reconnecting with lost parts of yourself and letting go what is no longer serving you, and self-care strategies that help you be your authentic self.

This is a safe space for sharing and exploration, and an opportunity for meeting other mothers on a similar journey.
