Forest Therapy

Experience a Forest Therapy experience or a Forest Therapy/Psychotherapy fusion session, both designed to help you slow down, reconnect with nature, and restore inner balance. These forest therapy sessions blend gentle, mindful nature immersion, grounding practices, and intuitive energy work to deepen your connection to yourself and the natural world.

What is Forest Therapy?

Forest Therapy—also known as Shinrin-Yoku or sylvotherapy—originated in Japan in the 1980s as a preventative healthcare practice that translates to “forest bathing.” Developed by Dr. Qing Li, a physician and researcher with the Japanese Society of Forest Medicine, this practice emerged in response to rising stress and burnout in modern urban life.

Unlike a nature walk or a hike, guided forest therapy invites you to slow down and connect with the forest through all of your senses - to become one with nature. It’s not about covering distance—it’s about deepening presence. While forest bathing typically refers to the general act of spending time in nature for wellbeing, guided forest therapy is a facilitated experience rooted in somatic awareness, mindfulness, sensory exploration, and relational connection to the natural world.

Scientific research shows that forest therapy can:

  • Lower cortisol and blood pressure

  • Support immune system function

  • Reduce anxiety and depression

  • Improve sleep and emotional regulation

  • Boost heart rate variability and overall wellbeing

In addition to these proven physiological benefits, guided forest therapy opens the door to energetic, emotional, and spiritual connection—offering space for intuitive insight, nervous system regulation, and a return to your most grounded, alive self.

Jen became certified as a Forest Therapy Practitioner in early 2025 and loves incorporating techniques she’s learned into her work. She has found a way to make it her own while honouring the original practices and customizing to the uniques needs of her clients.

All forest therapy sessions are guided by Jen Reddish, a Registered Master Therapeutic Counsellor and certified Forest Therapy Practitioner.

With a grounded presence and deep respect for the wisdom of the land, Jen weaves her trauma-informed, body-based approach into each session—supporting nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, and reconnection to both inner and outer landscapes.

For Jen, the forest has always been a place of remembering—a space where the deeper truth of who we are can rise to the surface. Forest therapy is not about fixing or striving, but about slowing down enough to notice, to breathe, and to feel held by something greater than ourselves. This work is an invitation to return to the intelligence of the body, the clarity of the senses, and the support of the natural world. At its heart, Jen offers forest therapy as a pathway back to belonging.
