Are You Giving Your Power Away?

Are you giving your power away? One of the biggest underlying causes of anger & rage is feeling powerless or out of control. 

If this resonates with you, consider how often you are giving your power away to other people in your life, and when this results in feelings of anger or rage. 

Challenging yourself on this can be difficult, but if the result of owning your own power is releasing feelings of anger and rage, is it worth it?

Reminder: You Matter Too! The next time you find yourself giving your power away by putting other people’s needs and wants ahead of your own, I want to challenge you to pay attention to the impact it has on you.

Consider this: Are you able to put this other person ahead of yourself and still get your own needs met? Or does it result in sacrificing yourself and feeling resentful?

You matter, and other people matter too! Sometimes, putting other people ahead of ourselves is the best choice! Sometimes it is absolutely necessary. Other times, it’s not...

Consider the impact that it has on you in either direction. ESPECIALLY when it leads to your needs/wants being neglected altogether! There’s a difference between meeting our needs TOO vs not meeting our own needs at all.

Just remember, you matter too. And when you honour your own value and worth, and treat yourself like YOU MATTER, incredible things can happen. 😉

Unpopular opinion: If you don’t like something, it’s up to you to instigate necessary changes to CHANGE your experience. Nobody else is going to do it for you.

If you want things to change, you have to be willing to MAKE CHANGES.

Sometimes this means making hard AF choices, sometimes it means choosing between multiple things that aren’t ideal. Sometimes it means opening space for feeling some extremely uncomfortable feelings.

The thing is, if you don’t make changes, then I’ve got some unfortunate news for you: NOTHING is going to change.
