Unburdened: An Afternoon Retreat for Women Who’ve Been Carrying Too Much

Unburdened

A slow afternoon in the forest for women who have been carrying too much

Has it been taking a lot of energy to just to keep your head above water lately?

Maybe you’ve been caught in that exhausting cycle of running on pure adrenaline, only to crash into a heavy, frozen fog where even the simplest decision feels like too much. This is for those of you who feel like you’ve been falling apart lately….

What if you could just… drop it for a few hours? What if you could retreat into a space where you could slow down, be present with yourself, tend to the parts of you that have been working so hard to stay afloat, and return to your responsibilities feeling more at ease, centred, and sure of yourself?

Picture this:

You drive into the forest in Bragg Creek to gather with a small group of women.

We begin our time together with a slow, meandering walk through the trees, a gentle deceleration to let your body realize it’s allowed to slow down, awakening your senses and signaling safety to all parts of yourself.

We gather in a cozy gazebo in the forest for tea and intention setting before opening into receiving the medicine of the land. With mother nature as your co-regulator, you'll be offered gentle sensory invitations to guide you into deeper connection with your body, intuitive knowing and feminine energy. You’ll wander through the forest slowly until you find a place to settle in for solo time for journaling beneath the canopy of the trees, inviting somatic awareness, connecting with the natural world, and just BEING in the sun.

From there, you’ll be invited into gentle, low-stakes art therapy to reflect on what arose during your time with the trees.... A tangible way to play, reflect, and integrate the awareness that came to the surface.

Through a gentle IFS (Internal Family Systems) lens, you’ll be invited to simply notice the different parts of yourself that take the lead when you go into survival mode, offering them a chance to rest while you reconnect with your grounded, authentic Self-energy.

We’ll wrap up with an optional debriefing circle before we end for the day.

If you’ve been feeling like you’ve been oscillating between fight/flight and freeze and could benefit from a slow nourishing afternoon in the forest to bring you back into regulation, back into presence, back into yourSELF, this is for you.

This afternoon retreat will be guided by Jen Reddish, Registered Master Therapeutic Counsellor & Certified Forest Therapy Practitioner. Jen is passionate about bringing women together for intentional connection & growth to become your authentic self beneath all the layers of survival & conditioning.

If you’re ready to stop surviving and feel more like yourself again, your spot is waiting for you.

What you will carry home with you:

  • Nervous System Regulation: A physical reset from hypervigilance and fog back into grounded presence, mirrored by the land.

  • Clarity & Insight: Uninterrupted space to quiet the noise, awaken your senses, and hear your own inner voice.

  • A Gentler Relationship with Stress: Space for your over-functioning parts to finally soften, rest, and step down.

  • A Shared Witness: The relief of sitting in a small, safe circle of women where you don't have to carry the room.

  • Art & Journal Anchors: Physical reminders of the stillness and nature connection you accessed beneath the trees.
