Receiving Support in Community
Over the past few months I’ve been navigating some personal challenges paired with a lot of excitement in my work. I’ve been noticing that, as uncomfortable as it is…. when I allow myself to drop into my own feelings that I’d rather avoid, I’ve been able to access greater levels of joy and clarity on the other side, and well, I also love bringing women along for the ride to experience this for themselves because… it’s SO worth it.
Lately I’ve been reminded how essential connection and community is both for my own sake and for my clients, and I’ve been lit up with a lot of inspiration and creative flow like never before.
Alongside my opportunities to feel some rather uncomfortable feelings, I have also been invited to go outside of my comfort zone as I practice receiving, allowing myself to be supported by my friends and community. And saying it’s “uncomfortable” is an understatement. I’ve been actively practicing receiving and asking for help for years but lately it’s been next-level uncomfortable and it has made me wonder how many other women struggle to say YES when others want to support them. Can you relate?
I wrapped up the third annual Healing for Healers Retreat two weekends ago and as usual, I was blown away by what occurred there! The magic must be experienced as it just can’t be explained. Real transformation happens at these retreats because the women who attend are ready for it. The retreats that I hold offer an opportunity to practice receiving in a unique way while building authentic connection within community, and there’s nothing quite like it.
I’ve always felt a strong pull toward groupwork, and now more than ever, it feels like the most important part of what I’m here to do.
It feels sacrted to be in a space with other people who are willing to show up authentically, sans-masks, sans roles, just being real as you explore what’s happening beneath the surface. There is so much we can learn about ourselves through hearing other people’s experiences, recognizing parts of ourselves in their stories, and realizing that the things we struggle with aren’t ours to carry alone.
One of the things I love most about groups is when someone else puts words to something you’ve felt for years but haven’t been able to articulate. Hearing a different perspective opens up awareness to things you hadn’t considered before. There is so much relief in simply being able to share what you’re experiencing without needing someone to fix it, give you advice, or tell you what to do. I think we often underestimate how powerful it is to be witnessed in our experiences and to feel a sense of connection with others. We spend so much time trying to figure things out on our own, and yet so much of our healing can happen in relationship with other people.
This is what I love about gathering women for intentional growth, healing and connection in groups. There is space to explore your own experiences, deepen your awareness, and work through the things that are keeping you stuck, while also connecting with others who are doing their own work. You get to show up as you are, share as much or as little as feels right, and learn from what others bring into the space, too.
I feel really passionate about creating these spaces, and I’m excited to be offering more opportunities to come together, whether through my therapy groups or women’s retreats. There is something about gathering with intention that creates the conditions for things to shift in ways we might not have expected.
I have some offerings coming up that I am very excited about, and I’d love to share them with you…!
